Biowaste

The Biowaste sector represents the recycling frontline as it has the highest growth potential. In 2015, according to an ISPRA statement, the amount of organic waste collected and treated in Italy has reached 6.5 millions tonnes, which means around 43%

of the national separate collection of waste, with a growth rate of 10% per year. If this trend continues, by 2025 the amount of organic waste collected and treated in our country will be 9 million tonnes, which is equal to 148 kilograms per person. Biological Care, together with IREM, is involved in the VERCELLI WASTE project, which aims at re-converting a wide industrial area into one of the most important European sites for the recovery and transformation of organic waste
